1. Teach them not to stop at dark houses 2. Inspect candy before they eat it 3. Make sure their costume does not block their vision or leave them prone to tripping 4. Check the registered sex offenders’ list before you go 5. Be aware of costumes near fire and make sure your little one knows how to stop, drop, and roll 6. Take them trick or treating during reasonable hours 7. Use an app to track your child’s location through their mobile device: Mamabear, Life360, FamilySignal, Glympse, or FindMyFriends 8. To prevent eye infection, do not let them sleep in face make up or decorative contacts 9. Keep an eye out for trouble makers and report any suspicious activity 10. Do not let them trick or treat alone 11. Do not drive distracted (especially being on your phone), during trick or treating hours 12. Teach them to walk not run 13. Teach them to walk facing traffic 14. Do not walk behind cars or between parked cars 15. Have your trick or treater(s) carry a flashlight, put reflective tape on their shoes, give them glow sticks, or make them carry a reflective candy bag
