It is time to make a New Year’s Resolution. You might invest in your health, your happiness, or even your finances, but why not invest in one of your largest investments, your home? Here are some New Year’s Resolution Ideas for Your Home: 1. I am going to finish any home projects that were never completed. 2. I am going to have a family discussion to identify any areas of the home that need a little more TLC. I am going to make those areas my focus point. 3. I am going to get a jump start on putting money away for those large repairs I know I have coming up. (For example, this could be a “roof fund”. This will reduce the anxiety and stress that come with large expenses.) 4. I am going to pick a room to redecorate. (Your style changes throughout the year. What better way to reflect that than to align the new you, with your new room, for the new year.) 5. I am going to take time to clean some of the things that get overlooked. How are my baseboards or my lint trap looking? 6. I am going to increase my home security. I am going to add an alarm, get window locks, or put up security cameras. 7. I am going to focus on making my home more energy efficient. I am going to replace old appliances or take a look at my lightbulbs. 8. I am going to organize an area that needs it. Is my junk drawer overflowing or does my filing cabinet have no rhyme or reason? 9. I am going to set up a system to track my home expenses. When are my utilities due or how much have I put into my home each year? Am I paying my bills on time? 10. I am going to declutter my home. If it is broken or I do no use it, I am going to get rid of it or donate it. If your New Year’s Resolution is to find a new home, contact me today!
